SPIRITUAL SLEEP – CAUSE TO ALL 'DIS'"…But while everyone was sleeping his enemy cameand sowed weeds among the wheat,and went away…” Matt 13:24-30.Naturally speaking, nature can never be cheated; sleep is very important in the life of a man, but very hazardous to slumber spiritually. Our creator always grants sweet sleep to beloved. “When you lie down your sleep will be sweet; the sleep of a labourer is sweet whether he eats little or much, but the abundance of a rich man permits him no sleep” (Ps. 127:2prov. 3:24, Ecc. 5:12). God assigned day for his people to work but ordered night to rest, Jesus says, “I must works of himthat sentme while it is day: the night cometh,when no man works” (Jn. 9:41). But reverse is the case too some unscrupulous elements, the spiritual wickedness of this world: they work and operate atnight. KingSolomon says, “for they cannot sleep till they do evil” they are robbed of slumber till they make someonefall” (Prov. 410)The main principal duty of Devil’s agent isto steal, kill or destroy. Until a man sleeps, his enemy has no access into his life. Weed cannot take over your farm unless you slumber, the scripture isGod’s breath and is useful for teaching, rebuking , correction and training: Adam, for instance was caused asleep before God could made Eve out of his rib (Gen 2-20-23) : Jonah would have cause everyone on board in the ship drown if not had waked from his sleep while he was running away from God’s calling (Jonah 1) , moreover waves broke over disciples boat on the sea while Jesus was sleeping on the cushion in the stem while Jesus was sleeping on the cushion in the stem. Wake up!Folk, anywhere, anyhow you tend to slack; you suffer in the hand of your enemies- At your home, business, carrier, Profession, family, office, academy, even in your ministry. God’s servantcould be cause to sleep ’’and you, son of man they will tie with rope s (sleep) you will be bound so that you cannot goout among the people… so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them. Israel’s Watchman are blind, they all lack Knowledge; they love to sleep “(Ezek3: 25- 26) (Isa 56:10). Many people sleep in the house of God especiallywhen ought to have receive God’s blessing, (Ecc 5:1) I know you must have been whether you are already asleep or what should be done to be alert. The truth is that every problem you face today is caused by your household and thus emanated fromyour deep sleep. It hinders man glory and God’s purpose for his life.Spiritual repentance, this is the firstfactor that confronts sleeplessness. Disobedience is the grass – root to all uneasiness. The soul that sins must die. The wages of sin is death. When you refuse to repent and renounce your sins and turn to Almighty God, you are sleeping spiritually. Remember that sin is controlledby your Lord and saviourfor God to keep you alert from yourspiritual sleepiness.Serviceto the Lord is another factor through which your problem could be checked. When you serve God, he services your life.Your sound health and lasting comfort are tied to your service. (Exo. 23:25,Job 36:11-12, Deut. 28:45-47). Adequate knowledge is the third point that subdues spiritual sleepiness. Nothing compares to understanding. (Hos. 4:6, Isa 5:13, Ps 82:5-7). Ignorance is not and excuse. The work of God is light (solution) to all darkness (problems). It gives healing, protection, peace and prosperity. Gratitude, moreover, is your way to altitudes. Thanksgiving to the Lord Almighty often promotes increase and victory – (Ps 103: 2-5, Ps 67:5-6). For incessant alertness, however you need fasting coupled with prayer. Seasonal prayer and frequent fasting will strengthen you against evil attack. Pray continually!Beloved, to ignore this word oftruth is to invite tragedy. Any fellowship devoid of the above factors mentioned above sleeps ignorantly. It’s devil’s target to strike. Any organization and individual thatstrays from the path or understanding comes to rest in the company of the dead. Spiritual sleepiness is the principal root to all “Dis” in life – disease, discomfort, disgrace,discord, nameit. You say God’s time is the best. But what is the actual time of the Lord? Friend, do not be deceived, the time you rise against your challenge is God’s right time for youto come out such predicament. Lake never flows, only river does. A stagnant, slumbered man will wait long for God’s time. Namaan, Syria army commander (2 Kings 5), and theimpotent man (Jn 5: 1-7) could have died waiting for miraculous healing if necessarysteps were not taken at the right time. Goliath wished to be an everlasting threat to the Israelites until the little David rose up against the mountain.Rise up now! Allow no sleep to your eyes, any slumber to your eyelids. Free yourself, like a gazette from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler, from the enemies that do not sleep until they do evil (Prov. 6:4-5). Separate the unwanted plants from the wheat, the tree that is not planted by God shall be uprooted and cast into the fire in Jesus mighty name.Addition of extra to ordinary makes extraordinary, so also super to natural equals supernatural. Those factors mentioned above are the extrasyou need to become a supernatural for spiritual alertness -Go for extra!
